Technology Used

Enhanced vs. Standard  »  In order to maximize compatibility for all visitors, some applications on this website will have an option for choosing the enhanced or standard versions. By default, the site will load the enhanced version. If you are experiencing difficulties or certain features are not working, you can select the standard version. The standard version will work on 99% of the browsers currently in use today. The downside of using the standard version is speed and increased bandwidth usage for visitors. In most cases, the enhanced version will work as long as you are using a browser that is less than 8 years old. If you are using an older browser, we recommend that you update your browser to the most current version. This will improve your view of this website and many others.

AJAX  »  AJAX stands for Asynchronous JavaScript and XML. AJAX is a method of building interactive applications for the Web that process user requests immediately. Ajax allows content on Web pages to update immediately when a user performs an action, unlike an HTTP request, during which users must wait for a whole new page to load. For example, when users on our website check their wedding date availablity they don't have to reload the entire page everytime they whant to check a date. This makes for faster viewing and saves on bandwidth for customers with slower connections. Ajax is not a proprietary technology or a packaged product. Web developers have been using JavaScript and XML in combination for several years. Jesse James Garrett of the consultancy firm Adaptive Path is credited with coining the name "Ajax" as a shorthand way to refer to the specific technologies involved in a current approach. If you have any questions regarding how we use AJAX, please feel free to contact us anytime.

Lightbox Techique  »  With the explosion of pop-up blockers today, we needed a new way of displaying additional content without causing confusion. Instead of opening a new window, the Lightbox technique places the new content on top of the current page. This avoids the pop-up warnings and the hassle of using two hands to open the page. Click Here to view an example of the Lightbox technique in action. You can close the Lightbox anytime by clicking the close link, pressing the escape key or by clicking anywhere outside the content. Again, because we are only loading the content you need and not an entire page we are helping to speed up and streamline your viewing experience.
